The Licensing Act 2003 requires a Licensing Authority to prepare and publish a statement of its Licensing Policy before the Authority can carry out any licensing or regulatory functions under the terms of the Licensing Act 2003. The Licensing Authority is required to review their Statement of Licensing Policy every 5 years, this is now due for the period 2022 - 2027.
This licensing regime may affect many different types of business including theatres, nightclubs, public houses, sports clubs, cafes, restaurants, fast food outlets, community centers, grocers, supermarkets and private members clubs.
This consultation is for applicants, responsible authorities and other persons to comment on how this Council will determine applications and process notifications in connection with the Act.

The consultation is open for 8 weeks. The results will form part of the Licensing Policy report that will be taken to Licensing Committee in May or June 2022. The report if agreed at committee will then be taken to Full Council, at a date to be determined, to be ratified.
