Changes to Ninesprings Play Area at Yeovil Country Park

Closed 12 Jun 2022

Opened 13 May 2022

Overview

Ninesprings play area at Yeovil Country Park is a popular destination for children, young people, and families throughout the year.  Some of the play equipment there has seen entire generations grow up, including the large wooden pirate ship that's now reaching the end of its serviceable life.

It's time to update Ninesprings play area to provide an accessible, enriching, inclusive, and quality play environment that will continue to inspire new and future generations to come.

Plans include replacing the pirate ship and hexagonal climbing frame with a new, improved play structure.  This will significantly affect the overall design and landscaping on the eastern side of the play area (toward the small car park), providing an opportunity to also update other play features.

There are no plans to remove the sand-covered part of the play area on the western side, although some of the equipment on it may be changed.
